Permalink Reply by bubba cromer on June 5, 2009 at 11:26am Can't make up my mind on this one issue. On one hand I have a couple friends who have lost their jobs and are in need of unemployment checks until they find their next job. In a year? When's the recession going to end? I had a friend living with me for a while because she was denied her unemployment check and couldn't pay her rent.
Then I have my husbands 3rd cousins who are so backwoods (he'll agree with me) who take unemployments checks like its candy. In other words, they get a job and then try to get fired so they can get their checks - and they'll brag about how they did it.
Anyway, on the other hand (thank god i only have two otherwise i'd keep on talking), I'm afraid that if Sanford is forced to spend this money to create jobs, that those jobs won't be there for longer than a few months. If he's forced to create jobs and someone depends on this money for a future home, future child, regular income, etc., then what happens to that person's lifestyle once they lose their job? That money is going to run out. So he'll have to create a job only to close it a few months later? I couldn't do that to a person.
I guess I'll be riding both sides of the fence til I read up on it some more.
