1. SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS - We are collecting new white socks for the homeless in our community! Men's size 10-14 works best! You can get them at Walmart, Kmart, Sam's, Dollar Store, Dollar General, Family Dollar or just about anywhere! Be a blessing and share some socks with someone less fortunate. Bring your socks to the CAD Monday nights and dances, there will be a container to collect them. We will collect them now through the first week in November. Let's hit our goal of 100 socks donated by Columbia After Dark! You might ask - Why new socks? the reason new socks is that this might be the only time this year that they receive new socks, most times if someone receives clothes, they are used, so we try to make this a special new warm gift. New or Used, it shows the love of God to others when we share! Be a blessing and share a blessing!
2. The SALVATION ARMY invites you to join us this Christmas season by ringing bells at one of the many Red Kettle locations. Donations placed in Red Kettles help fund programs that assist local people who are homeless and living in poverty. Money raised will help to provide… Meals for the Homeless, Rent assistance, Electric/Gas assistance, Water assistance, Prescription Medication, Food Boxes, Transportation for employment, Clothing, etc... Make the volunteer opportunity your own by playing Christmas music, singing songs, wearing Santa hats and elf costumes. Be creative and enjoy the fellowship! To register to Ring the Bell, please visit our website at DoingtheMostGood.org. Click the “Ring the Bell” graphic. Then, select the location, day(s) and time(s) of interest. Or, you can call Seth Taylor, Public Relations and Volunteer Coordinator, at 803-667-4943, and he can register for you- the Red Kettles will be at most Walmart and Sam stores (November/December). You can do this with your friends, church group, family, it only takes 2-3 at each time slot.
